Hope Harbor Emergency Shelter

The Salvation Army is committed to providing long-term and temporary shelter and support to individuals and families in our community who are experiencing homelessness. Our local office offers a variety of programs and services designed to help people overcome homelessness and rebuild their lives.

  • Hope Harbor Shelter & Family Service Center - The largest shelter in Lodi that provides men, women, and single parents with children a warm, safe place to stay. Guests may stay 56 nights per calendar year with an option for extensions should they enter into case management.  Hope Harbor offers overnight shelter and provides a dinner meal to anyone in need 365 days a year. Programs include linkage to supportive social services needed to overcome homelessness.
  • We track when people leave our program for what they self-disclose as “permanent housing”, and we may occasionally have some recommendations or resources when there is housing available - we do not specifically have the ability to move people into any permanent housing at this time.

Hope Harbor also offers a program that helps prepare men and women for entry in The Salvation Army's Adult Rehabilitation Center program. After completing the 6-month recovery program, Hope Harbor, offers access to transitional housing and other resources.

On Friday's Hope Harbor provides a "Friday Fair"  offering showers, haircuts, a clothing exchange, and other resources to those needing a hand-up.

How You Can Help

There are many ways to support The Salvation Army's local homelessness services:

  • Volunteer: Share your time and skills to help with different activities. You can serve meals, provide child care, or assist with office tasks.

  • Donate: Your gift helps us provide essential services to those in need.

Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those experiencing homelessness.

Homelessness can happen to anyone.

Homelessness can happen to anyone.

As of 2021, approximately 11.6% of people in the United States were living in poverty. Housing insecurity is not limited to a certain “type” of person. It can happen to virtually anyone at any time.
