Rochester Worship and Service Center Angel Tree and Toy Shop Information
Every year, The Salvation Army in Olmsted County, MN collects Christmas gifts for children 16 years of age and younger. We distribute these gifts through our annual Toy & Joy Shop, where we utilize the help of dozens of community volunteers to set up a display of all donated gifts so that parents and guardians can shop for the gifts they'd like to give their children. All gifts are distributed to families free of charge, and families must register to receive gifts ahead of the event.
Registration for families in need of Christmas gifts opens the first week of every November at SAAngelTree.org. The application is available online in both English and Spanish on this website. Families will need to verify that their home address is in Olmsted County, MN, verify their household income, and to verify that each child they are registering to receive gifts is 16 years of age or younger. The application will contain prompts and examples, and documents may be uploaded using the camera of any smart device if families do not have access to a scanner.
Donations of new and unwrapped Christmas gifts truly make Christmas bright for hundreds of children in our community every year. Whether you take a tag from an Angel Tree, or you place a gift under the Sharing Tree in the Apache Mall (across from Caribou Coffee), the gifts you donate stay right here in Olmsted County.
Volunteers are critical to the success of this event each year. Set up, distribution of gifts, and take down usually occur on Tuesday-Thursday of the week before Christmas, depending on the day of the week when Christmas falls in a given year.
