Hunger Services at FAIRBANKS, AK: Corps Community Center

The Salvation Army is dedicated to alleviating hunger in our community. Our local office operates community food pantries to provide nutritious food to individuals and families in need. We understand the challenges that food insecurity can pose in this area, and we're committed to providing a helping hand.

Our food pantries offer a variety of food items, including canned goods and nonperishable staples. Some even offer fresh produce. We work closely with local partners to ensure that we can provide a diverse selection of food to meet the unique needs of our community.

By providing access to nutritious food, we aim to improve the health and well-being of the neighbors we serve. We believe that everyone deserves to have access to the nourishment they need to thrive.

How You Can Help
You can make a difference in the fight against hunger by:

  • Donating Food: Donate nonperishable food items to our local Salvation Army food pantry.

We partner with the Fairbanks Community Food Bank with 17 other church/ministry organizations to provide emergency food to the community. 

We comply with FCFB rules and regulations. We only take 20 calls within the 10:00am-12:00pm time period.

The Food Pantry is accessible to the community (perishables and nonperishables). 
During summer months, kids can get a 'bone builders' snack bag (juice, fruit and granola bar).

1st Saturday of every month.

We have partnered with the Fairbanks Community Food Bank and the senior housing community. We deliver food boxes to eligible seniors at 4 senior housing locations in town. We are looking for volunteers to help deliver boxes every month.

Applications for CSFP food are through the Food Bank. 
Volunteers are to contact Captain Rosie 907-452-3103 ext 1

3rd Saturday of every month.

We deliver food boxes to eligible residents at 4 senior housing locations. 

TEFAP applications can be filled out and sent to the food bank or the senior housing coordinator. Residents must be home to receive their food boxes.
For Volunteers, there is bending and lifting of boxes and perishable foods. Dress adequate for weather conditions. Please contact Captain Rosie 907-452-3103 ext 1
