OUR MISSION
Meeting human needs. Without discrimination.
The Salvation Army is an international movement and an evangelical part of the universal Christian Church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.
Across Metro Detroit, 13 corps community centers provide life-changing programs, worship and social services.

Food pantries, Bed & Bread outreach, meals, clothing, rent and utility assistance help neighbors meet immediate needs.

From addiction to recovery
When Lisa turned to The Salvation Army, she found people who believed in her before she could believe in herself. Counseling, faith, life-skills classes and a supportive community helped her restore relationships and rediscover a sense of purpose.

Small acts. Big impact.
Northville High School Rotary Interact Club students took two-hour bell-ringing shifts and raised more than $1,000. For club president Jaya, watching a young girl contribute her own donation was a reminder that generosity has no age limit.

Showing up for Detroit
Detroit Lions defensive tackle Myles Adams joined the Bed & Bread truck to serve hot meals and share conversations with neighbors experiencing hunger and homelessness. His time on the truck offered a simple message: you are seen, valued and cared for.

FAMILY SUPPORT
More than a box fan
For Shamika, a box fan from the Pontiac Corps & Wallace E. Holland Community Center was another reminder that someone cared. Her family has also received food and Christmas assistance, while her son Elijah has found mentors through the corps' basketball program.

The 39th Annual Bed & Bread Club Radiothon brought listeners, sponsors and community partners together for a 27-hour broadcast at Ford's Garage in Dearborn.

GREAT LAKES ACE HARDWARE FAN DRIVE
2,089 fans provided
The 2026 Great Lakes Ace Hardware Fan Drive raised more than $40,000 to provide box fans to seniors and families across Wayne, Oakland and Macomb counties.

2025 RED KETTLE RECAP
Giving with joy. All year long.
Led by Christmas Chair Big Jim O'Brien, the campaign exceeded its $7.1 million fundraising goal. Bank of America's Bountiful Boxes, Pat Milliken Ford's $20 Challenge and the Consortium of Hope helped multiply the community's generosity.
Every dollar stayed local, supporting meals, shelter, Christmas assistance, youth programs, utility assistance and emergency support.
